PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The first public boat ramp in Providence will soon open.

City, state and federal officials plan to gather at the Gano Park boat ramp on Monday to officially open it. It will be the only public canoe and kayak launch site along a 4.2-mile stretch of the Seekonk River.

The ramp is at the intersection of Gano Street and East Transit Street.
