PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A fundraising website has been set up to help replace a custom made tricycle that was stolen from a Providence teenager.

WPRI-TV reports a page to raise money for Wayne Thompson was placed on with approval of the boy's family.

The $7,000 tricycle had been made for the 13-year-old boy and donated to the family by a children's hospital. The family noticed it was missing from their Tanner Street last Monday.

The boy had been hospitalized with a brain a condition that prevents him from riding a traditional bicycle.

Relatives say the boy's uncle had taken the tricycle out of the garage to clean it before it was stolen.

The site raised more than $2,000 in its first day of operation.
