PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Providence police are looking for the owner of dog that attacked a 12-year-old over the weekend, leaving him with wounds that needed 36 stitches to close.
WPRI-TV reports Jason Feit was running laps in Gano Park with his baseball team on Saturday, when the dog attacked him, biting him on an arm and leg.
Feit says his coach pulled the mixed breed dog from his leg.
He says the owner, who had another unleashed dog with him, retrieved the animal and apologized. But he left before police arrived.
The dog must be found within 10 days or Feit may have to get rabies shots.
