There have been a large number of snowy owl sightings around Rhode Island lately. They’ve been spotted in Middletown, Warwick, Jamestown, Charlestown and Westerly. They’ve also been seen quite a bit in Massachusetts. An injured snowy owl was found in Providence on Allen Ave. It was able to fly a little bit, but had a leg injury, so now it is being nursed back to health in North Kingstown at a wildlife clinic. NBC 10 reports that bird experts say “the owls live in the Arctic, but many fly south when their population spikes or food sources are scarce.” That or they’re desperately trying to contact a future witch or wizard with a letter from Hogwarts!
