Van Halen's "1984" album was huge. I remember listening to it at a friend's house and being blown away. It was the era of synthesizers and VH managed to incorporate keyboards into their songs without screwing up their sound. It paved the way for the next several albums, including "5150," which was the debut for new lead singer Sammy Hagar. (video courtesy of YouTube)
