Roger Daltrey Blows Out His Voice - Is This the End for the Who?

As a Who fan, this makes me really sad. It's like watching Tom Brady walk off the field because his arm is dead. The Who’s show in Houston, Texas Wednesday night left fans wanting more. About eight songs into the band’s set, they had to cut the concert short.

It became clear that Daltrey was having a hard time with his vocals once the band started playing their hit “Who Are You.” In a fan-shot video, you can see Daltrey step away from the mic as his voice broke more and more... and they eventually cut the song short. Daltrey figured he should “quit while I’m ahead” and walked off stage, leaving Pete Townshend to break the bad news to the crowd.

It’s unclear what’s wrong with Daltrey’s voice, but Townshend mentioned that he had seen a doctor before the show. Then, Townshend took over on vocals for one more song, “Eminence Front,” before saying goodbye for the night. So far, it’s unclear if The Who is still set for tonight’s show in Dallas, Texas.
