COVID-19 UPDATE: Here Are the New RI Social Distancing Rules

New social distancing guidelines go into effect in Rhode Island on Friday, March 19th. Here is a summary of the new rules:

Masks - Still should be worn in public, and any time you are near people outside your own household.

Social Gatherings - Max. 15 people indoors. 50 people outdoors. No limit on number of households

Indoor Dining – 75% capacity (up from 66%). Six feet of space between tables.

Retail – 1 person per 50 square feet (up from 1/100sf)

Retail (big box stores) – 1 person per 100 square feet

Catered Events – 75% capacity indoors up to 100. Outdoors – up to 200.

Churches/Houses of Worship - 75% capacity (up from 40%)

Funeral Homes - 50% capacity.

Gyms –1 person per 50 square feet

Salons/Barber shops - 1 person per 50 square feet. Six feet of separation between customers

Entertainment/Venues of Assembly – 50% capacity. 250 max. indoors. 500 max. outdoors

Offices –50% of workers. Remote working still encouraged
