If you like the Beatles song “Eleanor Rigby,” Paul McCartney says there’s more where that came from. In a new interview, Paul says he’s sitting on some unreleased “story songs” written in the style of “Eleanor Rigby.”
Speaking to "Uncut" Magazine for its September 2021 issue, Paul says it’s fun to “just dream of a name of a character” and come up with their story. But unlike the “more serious” song “Eleanor Rigby,” Paul says a lot of his “story songs” lean towards “tongue-in-cheek” comedy.
“I’ve still got a few that I haven’t released,” he adds. “Because I don’t think they’re that good.”
