Squid Game Costumes Banned in One New York School District!

Well you won't be seeing any Squid Game costumes on these kids. One school district in upstate New York has banned them in their elementary schools. The Fayetteville-Manlius School District superintendent said their guidelines don't allow for Halloween costumes with items that can be considered weapons including toy guns and swords, or costumes that are super scary or gory. School officials said, “A Halloween costume from this show does not meet our school costume guidelines due to the potential violent message.”

Even though these little kids should be too young to have even watched the mature rated show on Netflix, apparently some of these kids have seen it and are now reenacting games from the show at recess. The thing is, the contestants on Squid Game play children's games, so if the kids are playing red light green light, is that really such a big deal? As long as they're not hurting each other, what's the problem? And the costumes are just basically jogging suits with numbers on them. Maybe just allow the costumes and no fake weapons? It sounds like they just don't want to draw the children's attention to the violent show, which I totally get, because obviously, they shouldn't be watching it.
