Ed Sheeran Performs on Saturday Night Live After Recent Covid Battle!

It was a performance that almost wasn’t! A few weeks ago Ed Sheeran announced that he tested positive for Covid-19, thus throwing his performance on Saturday Night Live into question. He was on the schedule for Saturday, November 6th as the musical guest along with host, Kieran Culkin, star of the HBO series “Succession.”

Frantically SNL staff worked to get a replacement, then in the middle of last week it was announced that Sheeran had recovered and got the go ahead to travel to the United States. Sheeran, however, told Howard Stern he knew he would make the performance even though he had “really, really, really bad symptoms” for three days.

Ed sounded just fine in his first performance, singing his new single “Shivers” accompanied by his acoustic guitar. He sang his song “Overpass Graffiti” later on in the show.
