You may remember Sting's "Russians" from 1985. As it was released during the Cold War era, the song was one about hope that the US and Soviet Union would find a common humanity and not destroy the entire world with nuclear warfare. In light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Sting has brought the song back. Check out the video of the stirring new version below.

He shared a video of himself singing it, all in support of "Help Ukraine." This is an initiative that sends both humanitarian aid and medicine to Ukraine, specifically to a warehouse that lies on the border of the country but is actually in Poland.

Sting begins the performance by saying, “I’ve only rarely sung this song in the many years since it was written, because I never thought it would be relevant again. But, in the light of one man’s bloody and woefully misguided decision to invade a peaceful, unthreatening neighbour, the song is, once again, a plea for our common humanity."

He continued, "For the brave Ukrainians fighting against this brutal tyranny and also the many Russians who are protesting this outrage despite the threat of arrest and imprisonment – We, all of us, love our children. Stop the war.” Sting also shared detailed information in the caption about how you can help and where you can send care packages to if you want to support.
