You don't need to be a meteorologist to figure out that this was a wicked hot summer. However, our weather partners at Storm Team 10 have confirmed that the Summer of 2022 was the second hottest ever, in Southern New England, coming in just 0.2 degrees below Summer 2020. Our average temperature (highs & lows combined) for June-July-August was 74.2 degrees. Last month was the hottest August on record.
It was also the second driest summer on record, with just 7.14 inches of rain falling during the three months of "meteorological summer." Our friend Christina Erne delivered the data this morning on NBC10 Sunrise.
