I’m very excited about these new theme parks that Universal Studios is building right now. They’ve announced that they are going to open a new family-oriented theme park in Frisco, Texas aimed at attracting families with young children ages 3 to 9. The 97-acre park will be located just east of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Panther Creek Parkway.
According to Fox4News in Frisco, the company put out a press release that reads, "The proposed park will be designed to be more intimate and engaging for younger audiences and will be sized for a regional audience. It will be full of family-friendly attractions, interactive and playful shows, character meet and greets, unique merchandise and fun food and beverage venues. Although smaller in size, it will still carry the same quality as Universal’s other larger resort destinations."
And Universal is also planning a year-round horror theme park in Las Vegas! Sign me up for that one! It will be the anchor tenant of the entertainment complex called Area15 in Vegas.
Universal says we can expect plenty of live action shocks and thrills at this new park, much like their Halloween Horror Nights attractions that they hold in the Fall at their theme parks in Orlando and California. The park will use characters from the studio’s legacy of horror, all those classic monsters, and it will also build on collaborations with Jason Blum, James Wan and Jordan Peele.
The new universal horror theme park doesn’t have a name yet and no opening date has been announced, but whenever it opens, I am going to be there!
