Five Massachusetts Towns Are Among the Richest in the U.S.

A new Wall Street Journal report reveals the richest cities and towns in America. California is home to the most "rich" communities, but Massachusetts is well represented with FIVE communities in the Top 100.

  • Topping the list as America’s Richest City is Los Altos, California, where the median household income is $250,000 and the median home value is $2 million.
  • Five towns in Massachusetts make the list (from lowest to highest ranked): Milton, Newton, Needham, Lexington and Wellesley.
  • The top 100 richest communities all have more well-educated residents than the national average.
