Taylor Swift Named Time Magazine's 2023 Person of the Year

The Today Show announced this morning that Taylor Swift has been named as their Person of the Year!

This is the first time the publication has given that honor to a solo entertainer.

Editor-in-chief Sam Jacob said of the choice, “Taylor Swift found a way to transcend borders and be a source of light. No one else on the planet today can move so many people so well. Achieving this feat is something we often chalk up to the alignments of planets and fates, but giving too much credit to the stars ignores her skill and her power. Swift is the rare person who is both the writer and hero of her own story.”

Swift has had an incredible 2023, which included her sold out “Eras Tour,” and a blockbuster movie documenting that tour. She is also Spotify’s most streamed artist of the year and will earn close to $100 million from that feat alone.

And of course, she is in a new romantic relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, so needless to say, things are going very well for her right now.

In the interview Taylor is quoted as saying, “This is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been.”  Congrats Taylor!
