Florida Homeowner Detains Suspect By Holding iPhone Like A Gun

A Florida homeowner was able to detain a man who allegedly broke into his car by holding his iPhone like a gun and ordering the suspect to lay down on the ground. The homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous, described what happened to WSVN.

"There is somebody breaking into the car, and I said, 'What?'" the homeowner told the news station. "I immediately called 911, and while talking to the police, I came outside. I pointed the phone to him, and I said, 'Lay down.' I start screaming, 'What are you doing there?' And he tried to come towards me, and I said, 'Stay there. Don't come here.'"

The suspect, who was identified as 27-year-old Sheldon Johnson, complied and laid down on the ground until police arrived to take him into custody. He was charged with burglary, attempted grand theft auto and resisting arrest without violence.
