Princes William & Harry Have Always Been ‘Very Competitive’ With Each Other

Preparations for Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan

Prince William and Prince Harry have been plagued by rumors of a feud between them for the past year. Despite Harry confirming the pair are on "different paths" right now and don't see each other as much as they used to because of their busy schedules, a new source reveals the brothers still have an "incredibly intimate" relationship.

“Their relationship is incredibly intimate,” royal expert Andrew Morton told Royals Monthly. “Nobody apart from each other knows exactly — not even their father — what’s gone on in their heads and their hearts for the last 20-odd years. They both experienced the loss of their mother. The only people that they could trust to talk about it in a candid way was each of them.”

Rumors of their feud intensified when Harry and Meghan Markle split from William and Kate Middleton's charitable efforts, as well as the Sussexes' decision to move out of Kensington Palace. Though many outsiders took this move as a sign of the growing rift between the princes, Morton explains it was actually the plan all along.

“It was always the case that when Prince Harry married, he would have his own household and his own home. It is traditional that when you marry, you get your own place and have your own household with your own private secretary, equerry [and] other court functionaries,” Morton said. Despite starting their own families and having their own lives, the brothers remain “very, very close … they’re also very competitive — and always have been.”

Even though William and Harry are royalty, their relationship sounds like that of any brothers. Just as Harry says, brothers will have "good days and you have bad days" but they will "always be there" for each other.
