Field Getting Bigger For Lt Governor's Post

There is another hat in the ring -- this time for Lt Governor where State Rep Deb Ruggerio says she is running for the Democratic nomination for Lt Governor.

Ruggerio is 64 and has been in the state legislature for seven terms.

The veteran state rep calls herself a lifelong Rhode Islander as well as a “proud democrat”.

She said that the state needs to do more for seniors which should include investment in home health care services.

Ruggerio is a BC graduate.

She is the owner of a Communications consulting group in the state.

Its getting a bit crowded. Already in the race is state senator Cynthia Mendes.

Jeann Lugo, is running as a Republican. Lugo is a Providence Police officer.

The incumbent Sabina Matos is also running.
