There is another "no-go" for the First District congressional seat.
Former candidate for governor Helena Foulkes will not run to replace outgoing Congressman David Cicilline.
She said it was not an easy decision but that she believes she can have a bigger impact working on local issues "here at home."
Her decision comes just days after House Speaker Joe Shekarchi announced he will not run for the First District seat.
However, Pawtucket state Senator Sandra Cano has announced she is running, joining fellow Democrat Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos in the race.
