South Kingstown Voters Approve Budget- No School Layoffs

South Kingstown voters are making their voices heard in a school budget referendum.

The proposal on the table was to slash one-point-five-million dollars from the spending plan.

Officials said the reduction would have equaled teacher layoffs and program cuts.

Approximately 46-hundred voters voted for the existing budget on Tuesday night, and 12-hundred voted for the citizen's petition.
