Three States Asking U.S. Supreme Court to Strike Down Mass. Abortion Shield Law

Three states are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down Massachusetts' abortion shield law.

Alabama, Arkansas and Louisiana say the law protects providers who mail abortion pills into states where abortion is banned.

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell says Massachusetts will defend the law.

Governor Maura Healey says abortion remains legal in the state and access will be protected.

Massachusetts strengthened the law in 2025 to limit cooperation with out-of-state abortion investigations.
