My Favorite J. Geils Band Videos

As you have probably heard by now, J. Geils Band leader and namesake John Geils has died at the age of 71. The guitarist was reportedly found dead at his Groton, Massachusetts home. So far, no cause of death has been revealed.

Growing up in Rhode Island the 70s and 80s, I remember how the band's sound was such a huge presence on the radio.  The "Love Stinks" album came out when I was in the 8th grade, so hearing the opening guitar riff immediately sends me back to very specific places and times.  Here are a few of my favorite JGB tunes.  Check out the GREAT guitar solo by J. Geils on "Where Did Our Love Go."

Thank you, J. for all the great music and memories!

The opening guitar riff on House Party is one of the greatest licks in rock history...
