Personally I am not a fan of the Tony Awards. First of all, it is WAY too political. Plus, most of the Broadway shows don't interest me much. However... there was a highlight last night that even I can appreciate...
Bruce Springsteen was honored with a special award at last night’s Tony Awards for his Broadway show “Springsteen on Broadway.” Billy Joel honored Bruce during the telecast, calling the show an “extraordinary event.” For most of the performance, Bruce reminisces about growing up in the "heartbreaking town" of Frehold, New Jersey.
Billy noted that while Springsteen's run on Broadway was supposed to only run eight weeks, by the time it wraps, The Boss will have played 236 performances. He joked, “The Boss is working hard.” Check out the video below. (Video courtesy of YouTube)
