Billy Joel hit the stage of Fenway Park over the weekend, and it was an epic show. Billy treated the crowd to a career-spanning set, complete with some covers with the help of a pair of special guests.
His first guest of the night was Boston’s own Peter Wolf, who he welcomed on stage towards the end of the main set for a cover of J. Geils Band’s hit “Centerfold.” Wolf played Fenway the night before with Jimmy Buffett. After transitioning into “Sometimes A Fantasy,” Joel brought out his next guest, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott. Elliott was set to play Fenway Park the next night for Def Leppard’s tour with Journey, giving the crowd a little preview of what’s to come with a take on the band’s own classic track “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and then featured again for the last song of the night “You May Be Right.”
