A short documentary about Van Halen and one fan who got the chance to party hard with the band in the 80's is screening at the TriBeca Film festival this week, “Lost Weekend.” The 14-minute film tells the story of a Van Halen fan, Kurt Jefferis, who won MTV’s Lost Weekend contest in 1984 for the chance to party with the band for 48 hours. Jefferis was scooped up in a limo. flown out to Detroit and decked out in Van Halen merch to go cause a ruckus with the band – surely an unforgettable moment in his life, which he’s said left him “in recovery and shock for many days afterwards." The film is being shown at the TriBeca Film Festival through Sunday May 5th.
