The Rolling Stones are tiding fans over until they’re able to get back on the road for their “No Filter” tour. The band has shared a brand new song, “Living In A Ghost Town.”
The single marks their first new original material since they released “Doom and Gloom” and “One More Shot” for their 2012 compilation “GRRR!” In a new interview, Jagger explains that he and Keith Richards wrote the song over a year ago, but they made some changes to the lyrics to reflect current events.
“I didn’t have to rewrite very much, to be honest. It’s very much how I originally did it,” Jagger adds. “It was written about being in a place which was full of life but is now bereft of life so to speak…I was just jamming on the guitar and wrote it really quickly in like 10 minutes.”Check out the song below.
Plus check out a VERY similar song by the 1980's British pop/ska band The Specials. I'm wondering if the Stones were inspired by the Specials' song. videos courtesy of YouTube
The Stones' reggae take on their song definitely helps draw the comparisons to this Specials song. The videos even have similarities.
