Song #903 in our Top 1,000 Countdown, "You Can Call Me Al" was the lead single on Paul Simon's groundbreaking "Graceland" album in 1986. Simon always had a great sense of humor, as he demonstrated on his many TV appearances on shows like "Saturday Night Live" and "The Muppet Show." For the video, he enlisted the help of funnyman Chevy Chase. The concept of the video was the brainchild of SNL creator Lorne Michaels, who proposed it after Simon trashed the original concept for the video, which was a simple recording of Simon performing the song on SNL.
