Michael Bolton, who became a superstar in the late 80's and early 90's with hit songs like "Love is a Wonderful Thing" and cover songs like "When a man Loves a Woman," is representing his home state of Connecticut in NBC's American Song Contest. The competition pits song writers in each state against each other in a contest that involves both music industry judges and the voting public. On Monday night, Bolton advanced to the semi-finals of the competition thanks to fan voting, which propelled him into the top 3.
Last week Rhode Island native Hueston (who has actually lived most of his life outside the Ocean State) also became a semi-finalist, so Southern New England is well represented! Here are both Bolton's and Hueston's performances:
