Billy Joel is in a… Florida state of mind? That doesn’t sound right, but it seems that might be the case. The Piano Man has announced he’s leaving his Long Island home of over 20 years.
Following a 2002 purchase, and an estimated $22.5 million renovation, Joel is selling his Centre Island home for a reported $49 million. The singer had expanded the estate to 26 acres, almost double its original size. The "extraordinary one-of-a-kind waterfront estate” known as Middlesea, is close to Joel’s hometown of Hicksville, NY. The estate is on 2,000 feet of waterfront property that includes five bedrooms, a beach house, pool, guest apartment, bowling alley, indoor pool, helicopter pad, boat ramp and a floating dock.
According to sources, Billy has been spending most of his time in Florida lately. We think he'll still be around New York for a while, though. Joel still has a home in Sag Harbor, NY near the Hamptons and also owns a horse farm on Long Island.
