Wednesday, July 12th would have been the 80th birthday of late Fleetwood Mac star Christine McVie. To honor her, McVie’s family gifted fans (and the rest of the music world) with a number of new offerings, including a previously unreleased song.
“Little Darlin’” was recorded by the singer during sessions for her 2004 album “In The Meantime.” That album, along with her 1984 self-titled LP, will be available later this year in multiple remastered formats. McVie’s nephew, Dan Perfect, who worked with her on the 2004 release, oversaw the new remaster.
Mick Fleetwood, meanwhile, recognized McVie’s birthday by releasing a new cover of her classic single “Songbird.” "When I heard about Christine's upcoming birthday, it felt like the right time to share this as a tribute to all the lovely music she created, both on her own and with Fleetwood Mac,” said Mick.
