Check out the Providence Journal today, there is the funniest picture of animal control officers trying to capture the three wild turkeys in downtown Johnston yesterday. Mayor Joseph Polisena and officers from Johnston, Smithfield and North Providence were in the parking lot of a strip-mall next to the town hall yesterday morning. In the picture, one guy has a turkey caught in a net, another is grabbing one with his bare hands, feathers flying everywhere and the mayor a little caught in the crossfire. The Journal reports, "The turkeys stood their ground. Defiantly, they gobbled back at the mayor, surrounding his car. Only when net-wielding reinforcements arrived did they start to move." Haven’t we seen this before in an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati? So they caught two of them, but one turkey took off towards CVS and got away. His two friends will be moved to Snake Den State Park across town.
