Nun Throws Perfect Pitch at White Sox Game!

If only I could throw a first pitch, or any pitch, like Sister Mary Jo Sobieck! The nun from Marian Catholic High School in Chicago has quite the pitching arm! She took the field confidently to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the White Sox/Kansas City Royals game Saturday night. After showing off her trick of bouncing the ball off her arm, Sister Mary Jo tossed a perfect pitch to the catcher!

Sr. Mary Jo is obviously no stranger to sports. She played both softball and volleyball during her time as a student at The College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota. And she is currently an assistant coach at Marian Catholic High School’s varsity volleyball team.

Rick Renteria, the manager for the White Sox, laughingly said he offered her a place on the bench. Video has also surfaced of Sister practicing for her pitch in the high school’s gym. Check out Sr. Mary Jo's first pitch!
