No doubt, the debut of New Coke was a disaster! Coca-Cola introduced the new beverage back in 1985, and the outcry was so loud it wasn't long before they had to bring back the original formula...hence Classic Coke. Season 3 of the show "Stranger Things" is set in 1985, and the producers thought since the New Coke controversy was such a big deal that year, that it would be weird if it wasn't mentioned on the show. So they go together with Coca-Cola, who dug the recipe for New Coke out of the archives, and they're bringing it back for a limited time! But they're only making 50,000 cans, which will be available on Coke's website, at their World of Coca-Cola Museum in Atlanta, and in special pop-up vending machines in select cities.
Remember when the group New Edition introduced New Coke back in 1985? Bet they regret doing that commercial!
