Yes, Tom Cruise Really Flies a Jet In New Movie Top Gun: Maverick

Tom Cruise is known to do his own stunts in his movies. He broke his ankle on the set of Mission Impossible 6 jumping from one building to another. Even so he continues to do some pretty risky stunts, including flying his own fighter jet in the upcoming movie "Top Gun: Maverick."

Cruise wanted the film to be as realistic as possible so instead of using CGI, he was always filmed while actually flying a fighter jet. He also owns a WWII fighter jet, which he flew back and forth from the set every day during filming to keep in practice.

Cruise explained, "you can't act that, the distortion in the face. They’re pulling 7½, 8 G's. That’s 1,600 pounds of force." He talks about the experience in this video, check it out!

"Top Gun: Maverick" was supposed to be out this month, but the released date has been moved to December 23rd of 2020.
