Months of being cooped up in quarantine has caused some people to lose their cool while ordering ice cream. Some cranky customers, angry about having to wear masks while shopping, are unfairly taking it out on employees. Workers at Brickley's Ice Cream in Wakefield, RI are starting to lose their patience with some "verbally abusive" customers. The owners of the ice cream shop say some customers are refusing to wear masks and maintain social distance, and have been swearing at some of the young workers who ask them to comply with the rules. Some customers are also unhappy that the shop now has a limited menu, a move the owners made to help the lines move faster. Manager Brendan Kenny said, "People are not happy that they can't get what they want, and they are taking it out on our young staff and our poor staff are going home sometimes crying. It's absolutely heartbreaking." Brickley's says if the situation doesn't improve they may consider closing the shops.
