Lobster Rolls Will Cost You More This Summer!

Lobster rolls are a favorite Summer dish for us New Englanders, and unfortunately it's gonna cost a little bit (okay actually a lot) more to enjoy them this year, because the price of lobster has skyrocketed! Limited supply and high demand are the reasons behind the price increases.

I had one about a month ago at the Matunuck Oyster Bar and at the time it was $21.95. Now those same lobster rolls are $23.95, which compared to other local restaurants is actually a bargain. A listener called in and said she paid $30 for one at O'Rourke's Bar and Grille in Pawtuxet Village in Warwick.

Red’s Eats in Wiscasset, Maine, the home of an amazing 'lobstah' roll, was selling them for $34 last month, and they've probably gone up in price even more since then. Checking the menus of several restaurants, many are not even listing a price and are just saying 'market price' so who knows how much you'll pay the next time you order one. They are absolutely worth every penny! What's your favorite Summer food?
