Yup, this is always something that has made me crazy, that there aren't the same number of hot dogs in a pack of those as there are hot dog buns in a bag. What is up with that? There are usually 8 hot dogs in a package, versus the hot dog rolls that are sold in a ten pack. Is it for emergencies you know in case you drop one on the ground? Or burn it while toasting it on the grill? Maybe it's just so you'll buy more hot dogs to use up the extra buns, and then you'll need more buns for the left over hot dogs from the new pack. That's a vicious cycle, and Heinz wants to put a stop to it.
The ketchup company has started a petition to ask wiener and bread companies to finally release these items in equal number packages.
They've launched the Heinz Hot Dog Pact, and it's “calling on big bun and big wiener companies to finally sell buns and wieners in even packs.” They suggest hot dogs should come in packs of ten and that hot dog buns should come in packs of ten as well.
