Facebook to Launch VR Conference Rooms for Remote Workers!

If you love working from home, but you miss seeing your coworkers at the office, Facebook has a way for you to enjoy the best of both worlds. Yesterday the social media company introduced their new virtual reality app called Horizon Workrooms.

The app is free, and using an Oculus Quest 2 headset, office workers can get together virtually for a meeting. You each create your own avatar that will sit in a virtual conference room with up to 15 other users. If you need to accommodate more people, up to 34 others can be in on the meeting as video callers. You would then be able to see those people up on a flat screen inside that VR conference room.

You probably wouldn't want to wear The Oculus Quest 2 headset for too long a period of time. They weigh about a pound, which doesn't sound like a lot, but could get uncomfortable after an hour or so meeting. Could you still gossip with your friends by the water cooler? Probably not unless the app has private break out rooms.

If you work remotely would you like to meet virtually in a VR office? At least no one will steal your lunch!
