Dear HBO, I'm still angry about the ending of the show "Game of Thrones." That final episode (in fact the last several episodes) was so bad I may never get over it. When I heard you were making a GOT prequel series I thought, no way, you're not sucking me in again only to be disappointed. Then you dropped a trailer for that new series and I'll admit, you've piqued my interest a little bit. Well okay, a lot. It looks really good!
The new show "House of the Dragon" is based on the George R. R. Martin book "Fire and Blood," and it tells the story of the House of Targaryen. Yup those are the blonde ones with the dragons, the ancestors of Daenerys aka Mother of Dragons. This story is set 200 years before the events of "Game of Thrones." The show will tell the story of the "Dance of the Dragons," the war of succession between two family members, Aegon II and his half-sister Rhaenyra battling over the throne of their father Viserys I.
"House of the Dragon" debuts on HBO and HBO Max on January 1, 2022, and I just might have to get my subscription back to watch this show!
