Providence Distillery Makes Country's First Oyster-Based Vodka!

Fans of alcohol and seafood will be thrilled to hear about this new booze crafted right here in the Ocean State! The Industrious Spirit Company a distillery in Providence claims to have crafted the first oyster-based vodka in the United States!

The limited-edition vodka is named Ostreida, and the distillery infused the spirit with oysters harvested in Rhode Island. WPRI reports that Mike Seely, the executive chef of Bayberry Garden in Providence chose the oysters for the first batch of Ostreida.

Industrious Spirit Company CEO Manya Rubinstein said, “Our vision for our newest product was to create a perfect blend of land and sea.” She went on to say, “Ostreida brings a savory and briny seacoast minerality with a subtle hint of bivalve bouquet on the nose that mixes sublimely with our spirits’ signature buttery texture and creamy finish.” Mmmm....bivalve bouquet.

Ostreida will only be sold bottles at the distillery’s tasting room and you can enjoy it in cocktails at Bayberry Garden.
