Over the last few years during the pandemic many people have dealt with the loss of a loved one, both adults and children. What are some ways we can help kids manage these difficult emotions? Chief Nursing Officer Mary Sullivan PhD for Bradley Hospital is a specialist in grief counseling. She and some of her colleagues have created a children’s coloring book to help them cope with grief.
In the book Tori the Turtle has lost his grandmother and is experiencing all the emotions that go along with a loss of that magnitude. His family and friends talk with him about his feelings and encourage him to make “Memory Visits” to remember good times with his loved one. Death and loss is explained in an effortless way children can understand easily.
The coloring book is free and is available in both English and Spanish. You can download a copy of it HERE.
