Thieves Steal $200,000 in Antiques and Props From Set of 'The Crown!'

Good Heavens! The set of the Netflix series 'THE CROWN' has been robbed! Over $200,000 worth of antiques and props were taken by thieves on the set in Doncaster, England.

This wasn’t just some small smash and grab job, these burglars stole a lot of stuff! Variety reports that more than 350 items were absconded including jewelry, a dressing table, a grandfather clock, silverware, crystal glassware, silver and gold candelabras and a reproduction of the Fabergé egg owned by Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather, George V.

Police are on the case investigating the robbery. A Netflix spokesperson said, “We can confirm the antiques have been stolen and we hope that they are found and returned safely. Replacements will be sourced, there is no expectation that filming will be held up.”

Right now a new cast is filming Season 5, which will focus on the years 1990 to 1997. Actress Imelda Staunton is taking over the role of the Queen. I love her! Remember she played the evil Deloros Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies! The next season of “The Crown” will have 10 episodes and is expected to debut later this year.
