Stolichnaya Vodka Shortens It's Name In Solidarity With Ukraine

You’ve probably heard that a lot of liquor stores and bars and restaurants have stopped selling Russian made vodka and other spirits in support of Ukraine which is being invaded by Russia right now. Well one brand of vodka has decided to change their name in solidarity with Ukraine.

Stolichnaya will now be rebranded and remarketed as simply “Stoli” from now on, which makes sense since that’s what many call it anyway.

Yuri Shefler, who is the founder of the Stoli group, was exiled from Russia in 2000, and for the record, the spirit has been produced in Latvia since then. There has been a lot of confusion from consumers about where the product is made, and they've been commenting on Stoli's social media sites. The company says they will work to ensure the alcoholic beverage is a 100% non-Russian alpha grade spirit.
