“Top Gun: Maverick” has been knocked out of the top spot by the dinosaurs. Although the reviews were terrible for “Jurassic World: Dominion,” the dino flick killed it at the box office opening earning an incredible $143 million in North America!
And even with that enormous weekend, Top Gun Maverick still made an impressive $50 million in its third weekend in theaters.
That brings its earnings up to $393.3 million, and that’s just here in North America. It’s already soared past $747 million worldwide.
Thanks to those two blockbusters, this marks only the third time since the pandemic began that movie ticket sales made it over that $200 million mark in a single weekend.
In third place this weekend was “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” adding another $4.9 million to its impressive $803 million dollar total.
