Moviefans, we’re about to get a pretty sweet deal at the box office! Over three thousand movie theaters all over the United States will offer three-dollar movie tickets on September 3rd, that’s this Saturday, as part of the new National Cinema Day!
The biggest movie theater chains, including AMC and Regal, are on the list of participating theaters, and it looks like the local Showcase Cinemas in Rhode Island are participating too.

When you go to the website it says every movie, every showtime, every format will be available for $3 plus tax, which is pretty cool! According to The Associated Press the organizers of National Cinema Day say if this is a success it could become an annual event.
Movie attendance was kinda flat following COVID-19 pandemic closures, although it did pick up when Top Gun: Maverick was released. Lots of folks went to the theaters to see that one, and they still are! That movie remained in the Top 5 at the box office this past weekend!
