James Cameron's 'Avatar: The Way of Water' Getting Rave Reviews

Thirteen years after the movie “Avatar” stunned theatergoers, the long-awaited sequel "Avatar: The Way of Water” had its London premiere Tuesday night and it’s getting rave reviews.

Erik Davis of Fandango wrote, “Bigger, better & more emotional than ‘Avatar,’ the film is visually breathtaking, visceral and incredibly engrossing. The story, the spectacle, the spirituality, the beauty – this is moviemaking & storytelling at its absolute finest.”

Another reviewer told audiences they should “never doubt” James Cameron.

The film cost $250 million to make and needs to make a ton of money at the box office just to break even, but Director James Cameron says he’s not concerned about "Avatar: The Way of Water" being a flop.

In an interview with Variety, Cameron said he trusts his instincts and that if he likes the movie he’s made, he knows other people will too. He said, “I don’t worry about it. I don’t think anything one does artistically in life should be determined by the trolls and the naysayers. You just go where you think it makes sense.”

The three-hour-and-10-minute film opens in theaters December 16th.
