It seems every year the Academy forgets to include some dearly departed stars in their 'In Memoriam' tribute. This year was no exception, and the families of these actors are not happy.
Actor Paul Sorvino, who passed away on July 25th and Tony Sirico whom we lost on July 8th, were both omitted from the segment. Both Sorvino and Sirico appeared in the Oscar winning film "Goodfellas" as well as several other films and TV shows.
Sorvino's daughter Mira Sorvino, who won an Oscar herself, called out the Academy for the snub Tweeting, “It is baffling beyond belief that my beloved father and many other amazing brilliant departed actors were left out. The Oscars forgot about Paul Sorvino, but the rest of us never will!!”
For the record, a list of those who died in 2022 was posted by the Academy online, but it was noted by many who watched the broadcast that along with Sorvino and Sirico, others we lost, including Tom Sizemore, Anne Heche and Leslie Jordan, were not mentioned either.
