The "Barbie" movie had a massive opening in North America earning 155-million-dollars in its first weekend of release. Greta Gerwig's live-action comedy brought in an additional $182 million worldwide. It was the biggest opening for any movie directed by a woman.
Christopher Nolan's biopic "Oppenheimer," which chronicled the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, who worked to develop the atomic bomb during World War Two, shattered box office estimates bringing in $80.5 million in its debut weekend.
They’re calling it "Barbenheimer" weekend as many moviegoers went to see both in a double feature.
