This sounds like the 1994 version of the movie Miracle on 34th Street. Remember when Santa used sign language to communicate with a little girl? This happened in real life but instead of Santa it was his elf!
They don’t call them Santa’s little helpers for nothing. Melanie Boyeson goes by Holly the Elf when she’s working with the big guy, and her knowledge of sign language came in very handy recently.
Four-year-old Emily Andrews is deaf. When she sat on Santa’s lap her mother Tanya explained to him that Emily is deaf and started to tell him the items on her Christmas list.
It was at that point that Holly the Elf jumped in to help and translated Emily’s list for her.
The mom said, “I was in tears, it was so magical to see Emily’s face light up.”
