BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Rob Gronkowski's on-field injury history is well-documented, but the tight end revealed he's not even safe from harm at post-game celebrations. During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon , Gronk explained he was hit in the face with a beer can at Tuesday's rolling rally.
"There was five beers coming at one time," he said. "Everyone on the duck boat's juking 'em - we're getting good practice in for next season. And then next thing you know, I move back a little - I'm just chilling, looking, and then...POP!"
"You see that?" Gronkowski asked, pointing to a cut above his left eyebrow. "Full beer can to the face!"
"I was bleeding all over the parade, on the duck boat," he continued, claiming his dad later stepped in to karate kick wayward beer cans.
With retirement rumors rampant, New England fans have already latched on to Gronkowski's comment about "getting good practice in for next season."
Fallon pressed Gronkowski, wondering if the affable big man could leave the field for a future in Hollywood. "Well first off I gotta see where I'm at. Right after a season you can't make a decision, it's so emotional - big win like that," he said. "When you're bruised up a little bit, your mindset isn't there all the way. But it's all good, I know how to bounce back. I know how to always do the recovery, all the treatments, always come back stronger."
